Off Camera Flash Experiments With An Old Vivitar 283 And My S5700
Posted by Rob_Nunn under: technique.
When I purchased my Minolta SRT 101 Film SLR from the Car Boot Sale a couple of weeks ago, the seller chucked in a Vivitar 283 Flash.
I wasn’t keen on trying to use the flash with my film SLR, plus I would have needed an extra cable to make it work, so I thought I’d see if it would work with my Fujifilm S5700…

OK, I’m not as fit as I was ten years ago. Hey, I’m not as fit as I was last year, so it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when I pulled a muscle in the back of my leg when playing football with my son and his mates yesterday. I hobbled home, and have had to put up with much merry mickey-taking from my Wife and the kids, almost all about how I’m “such a drama queen” about such a little thing as pain.
Anyhoo, I’ll probably be doing a few “indoors” posts over the next few days, starting with this exercise in shooting some product type shots on a white background.

Objects – Macro Subjects On Black
Posted by Rob_Nunn under: technique.
Had an hour spare the other morning, so I decided to experiment with some macro photography, but with a bit of a twist this time.
I placed my subjects on a black t-shirt, then tried to block off all direct light, hoping for some interesting results…
