Photowalk 14 – More Macro!
Posted by Rob_Nunn under: photowalks.
When the skys too boring, or the view not inspirational, why not just go Macro and have some fun in the undergrowth?
Seriously though, I love Macro Photography, but it can be hard to create something different from the thousands of “flower” shots out there, that everybody takes the first time they get a macro lens or capable camera. So on this short Photowalk I tried some unusual angles, and got stung by nettles all over my legs. (Note to self – wear jeans next time, not shorts).

Blind Macro Shooting – For More Dynamic Photographs
Posted by Rob_Nunn under: tutorials.
I love macro photography with my S5700. It has an unbelievably good Super Macro Mode, where you can get in really close and produce some amazing images – but sometime you’ve got to “shoot blind” to get the best results.
I’ve put together a short video to explain how to do it.

Do Dragonflys Growl? – Macro
Posted by Rob_Nunn under: Uncategorized.
(Click on the picture to see the larger sizes on Flickr.) Inspired by a recent discussion in the Fujifilm S5700 group on Flickr, when I saw this little chap perched on the edge of our paddling pool, I grabbed my camera, put it into Super Macro Mode and started snapping away.
He (or she) kept flitting away, but always came back to the edge of the pool. The biggest challenge was to stop me or my cameras shadow falling on the subject insect, I took about twenty shots in all, and this was the best. I’ve cropped it, added a little colour and sharpness, but I think it’s another case of take enough frames and eventually you’ll get lucky.
Cheers, Rob.
