Video Review: Columbus V-900 Photo Geotagger, Voice Recorder and Bluetooth GPS Track Logger
Posted by Rob_Nunn under: accessories; geotagging; reviews.
You know me, I like to geotag my photo’s, so I was delighted when Joe from BuyGpsNow.com sent me a review sample of the Columbus V-900 GPS Photo Geotagger.
This great little gadget is PC and Mac compatible, stores data on micro-SD cards, runs off it’s rechargeable battery for about 24 hours, can store up to 250,000 waypoints (!), and includes Bluetooth and a voice recorder… so take a look at the short video I’ve put together.

Comparing Different GPS Photo Taggers and Geotaggers
Posted by Rob_Nunn under: geotagging; reviews.
If you want to start using a GPS device to Geotag your pictures, (that is insert your lattitude and longitude (and height) into them for displaying on a map), there’s quite a few different options to look at.
I’ve knocked together a quick video looking at three different models, that Geotag your images, but all in a slightly different way: The Amod AGL3080, The ATP Picture Tracker, and the Qstarz Platinum.

Amod AGL3080 GPS Phototracker / Geotagger Review

This little beauty arrived via Fedex from Taiwan a couple of weeks ago, and I’m pleased to say that the AMOD AGL 3080 Photo Tracker is a great little Geotagger – simple and easy to use, a great accessory for any Photographers camera bag – and because it behaves like a USB Drive, it’s compatible with Mac and PC.

Qstarz BT-Q1000P Platinum Photo Tagger And Track Logger

Geotagging is really starting to become popular – the act of embedding the latitude and longitude of where you actual took the photo into the exif data of the image – but the Qstarz BT-Q1000P does this and so much more.
Yes, it can geotag your photos, but using the supplied software it can also easily create track logs, and then export both the track and your photo’s into a Google Earth .kmz file – so you can look at your photos, and the track you walked to take them – in glorious 3D in Google Earth.

Photowalks 1-8
Posted by Rob_Nunn under: photowalks.
I thought long and hard about importing the first few Photowalks I had done from one of my other sites, but then thought I’d be better off spending the time on new subects.
If you’d like to see Photowalks 1 through 8, check out the Photography Section at sciuridae.co.uk.
Thanks, Rob.
