Eyeballs Don't Grow Back - Put On Your Goggles Before You Pick Up That Power Tool

The week-end is upon us, and many will be putting down their cameras for a few hours to drill some holes, saw some wood or grind some metal.

Before you pick up the Power-Drill, Skill Saw or Angle Grinder let me enlighten you on some facts about eye-injuries.

In the UK DIY causes more than 20,000 eye injuries every year, with many victims losing the use of an eye or suffering from total blindness.

In the USA there are more than 2.5 million eye injuries every year, with over 50,000 people losing part or all of their vision.

So if you want to continue to enjoy your photography, please, please, please, get some safety goggles and wear them every time you pick up a power tool, saw some metal, chisel some wood, do a little gardening, paint (or paint-strip), grind, hammer or polish.

Before you pick up that tool, put on those Goggles!

Cheers, Rob.
