Todays Fancy Photo Filter Is Tomorrows Fish And Chip Paper

Woah! STOP! What do you think you're doing? DO you really want your photo to look like that?

Pick up any photo tutorial book from more than five years ago and peruse the special effects and filters chapters. Yuck! They're out of date and embarrasing, past their sell-by date and destracting on even the best images.

Grab that slider and pull it back the other way. Turn the opacity on that preset layer down to 10%. Take a step back from maximum clarity, contrast, saturation and sharpness. EMBRACE THE REAL!

Art isn't created with the click of a button, especially when ten thousand other people are doing the same thing.

Let your photos sing and don't muffle them with over-done photo-filters.

Thanks, Rob.
