Apologies for the odd timing and my distracted attitude during the 'cast - Libsyn, who host the podcast and the main feed, have recently changed their service, and i was worried that I wouldn't be able to get the episode out.
I appears however that my fears are unfounded, and things seem to be working ok!

Hi Rob,
I have uploaded a video of a hotshoe mounted flash trigger I picked up on ebay, should give you a lot more range than having it tethered by cable. You get the transmitter and wireless trigger to attach to your flash, it also has a tripod connection on the bottom.
