My First Canvas Wrap Print From!

My First Canvas Wrap Print!

Have a look at the original size photo of my canvas wrap print to see all the detail.

One thing I don't do often enough is get prints of my own photographs, and now I'm delighted to have a canvas print, courtesy of

I'm involved in the blogger / webmaster community over at , which means that every now and again I get invited to take part in promotions and offers. A couple of weeks ago I was asked if I'd like to have a free print from, to check out their service and see what it was like.

Over at they offer plenty of products for the enthusiastic photographer, photo books, panel prints, poster prints, calendars, all in various sizes and formats. I opted for a canvas wrap print and dived straight in to upload a photo and get my order in.

The process is very easy indeed. You simply upload a photo then use their preview screen to see how your print would look on a wall at various sizes. When you're happy, just confirm your order, add any fancy wall hanging fixings you'd like, then it'll be despatched to you in a couple of days.

I opted for a 30x20cm Canvas Wrap, chose the pic I wanted, then waited for it to arrive. Well, to be honest once I had turned my PC off that night I forgot about it until I got a package a few days later!

I have to be honest with you, when I first got my picture out of the packaging and had a good look at it, I wasn't very impressed. When you're used to looked at shiny sharp photos in magazines and in books, a canvas print is a different proposition altogether. I thought it looked too textured, so I propped it up on a shelf in our PC room and left it at that.

Over the next couple of days my opinion changed. Maybe it was because I was looking at the print from a better viewing distance (ie not right up close!), but the photo and canvas wrap style started to grow on me. I found myself just standing back and looking at it. The photo itself isn't that great, but the medium of the wrap, and the almost painterly feel it gets across, I found memorising.

Now, a week later, I love the print and the format of the canvas wrap. The size I chose was too small, next time I'll definitely go bigger, but I'm a convert. This picture now takes pride of place on my PC rooms wall... until I get a bigger one!

So, in conclusion, if you're thinking about getting your photographs printed on Canvas, you can't go far wrong by checking out - recommended!
