Hiya Rob,
Well done on your camera giveaway and congratulations to the winners!
Glad you found the IR feature of interest and isn't it typical, find a prime camera for conversion and you don't have the heart to pull it apart :-)
I've been busy on eBay and picked up a few bargain cameras, (99p small fault cameras), ready for repair and more conversions. Like you I obtained an older Olympus, the c-745, which for an older camera at 3.2MP is actually very good, metal case banding, 8x zoom and more features than you can shake a stick at! However, it's great features made it prime for IR conversion, (including custom white balance and full manual control which is very handy for this sort of thing.) Inspired by your giveaway I may even be tempted to do something similar if I build an excess of IR models!
Look forward to your testing and experimentation with the new lensbaby and shall keep a look out.
All the best,
Victor
Rob,
I was a little behind on listening to my feeds, but I just heard that I was one of the winners. Excellent! I have been shooting with my Rebel xTi for over 2 years now, and was just looking for an opportunity to explore some full frame photography. This camera will allow me to play with that, and explore the world of film, which I have never had the opportunity to do in a meaningul way. Thank you so very much. I always enjoy your podcasts and add your insights to my own as I follow behind down the path of improving my own photography. Know that you have a place in my MP3 player beside Scott Bourne, Ibarionex Perello, Chris Marquardt, Jeff Curto, and the whole TWIP crew. Thank you again, and please keep up the good work!
