Hiya Rob,
I must say it was an absolute pleasure to chat to you and thanks again for inviting me for the interview on your SCL podcast.
Apologies on my behalf for the poor audio quality due to my terrible 3G wireless modem, you did a great job recording my garble, (was that the audio quality or just my garble?! Ha!)
Congratulations again on your recent 52nd podcast and first year landmark, it was a joy to be featured on your 53rd cast. Look forward to chatting to you again, (so good to chat in voice after this last year of typing!)
All the best,
Victor
Hi Victor,
Listening back to the audio as I was editing it, there's so many questions I wanted to, but forgot to ask - so if its ok with you we'll do it again, soon.
Maybe before the next attempt I'll look into the technical side of it, how we can maximise bandwidth, or perhaps if we both record the conversation I can then edit them together afterwards for better audio without so many drop-outs.
Thanks again, Rob.
Hiya Rob,
No worries, look forward to it. As I said my wireless modem was running less than efficiently, (we've only just got HSDPA speeds back up), but it wasn't totally unlistenable. I think you did rather well, all considered.
As I said, it was a real pleasure talking to you and look forward to chatting to you again. :)

Hello,
Just finished listening to the podcast. I usually have to either listen late at night, or will put the 'casts onto an SD Card, and play them through the Sat Nav in the car (Usually when my g/f is in the supermarket - I Hate shopping!).
Must say, that the audio was erm...interesting! Unfortunatley, there is a traffic priority on Mobile Broadband, and VoIP just isn't top of the list.
I always find the SCL 'casts interesting, but this one especially, it was good to hear from Victor. The comments are very valid; it is true that people will always focus on what their camera can't do. And I must admit, that I am guilty of this too. Yes I want a better manual focus, yes I want a hot shoe or a PC-Sync. The latter has been addressed by Victor and his slave trigger circuit, although I have yet to build this!.
I love the Fuji, I find it a very good camera, and it is very easy to use. I must admit, however, that the biggest limitation to it, is ME.
The camera can do pretty much anything that I ask of it, but it is my ability as a photographer that is the limiting factor. And that is what sites such as this, Flickr and TheInvertedImage.com are about; Sharing our experiences and tips and techniques to help us all become better photographers.
Like Victor says "It's not a camera club", and he is right, I find (most) camera clubs to be quite unfriendly, and if you turned up EOS 5d MKII or a D700 then you would be okay, but if you turned up with the Fuji, then you would probably be laughed at.
But Why? what is so wrong with it? Well, nothing, other than it would look like a toy compared to a 5d. But does that make it a bad camera, well, no.
But anyway, another great podcast, and I like the idea of a "Round Table". Would make the podcast very interesting to get some other people's viewpoints, and get them to talk about what inspires them on their photographic journey.
Great work.
Great podcast this week ,
The sound quality did not distract from what was a thouroughly enjoyable chat , you both raised some interesting points ,and i agree with what Ben has written above , we all too often look at what something cant do , as apposed to what it can .......
P.s - The group podcast sounds like a great idea , and im upgrading my pc at the end of the month so i am definatly up for it !!!!!
Cheers ,
Matt
Hi Rob
I have finally discovered how easy it is to listen to a podcast - and immediately listened to a second one straight after - so obviously I enjoyed hearing you sharing some of your thoughts on photography. I intend to become a regular listener - and also to catch up on all the ones I missed ; -))
Congrats on reaching the milestone of 52 - a commitment in itself and a great way of documenting your own photographic journey and sharing it with others.
I enjoyed hearing about your reactions to film cameras - but personally do not wish to go back into that direction. Found it far too expensive - maybe I would feel differently if I had experienced black and white.
Very envious of your finds in car boot sales - unfortunately they do not happen where I live.
Liked your interview with Victor - good questions and interesting and thought provoking answers. I appreciated Victor talking about fun with photography and working with the limitations of particular cameras rather than the never ending quest for technically better equipment. It is so easy to get caught up in that spiral - but it does not in itself lead to better photography.
Wishing you both continued success!!
Best wishes!
